Submitted all my papie´rwork To VW whatfer the buying back of the Nox Box. They are going to let me keep it until April of 2017 and then buy it back from me for $19,567. How kind of them. Also, interestingly enough, I found out that:

a. My insurance won’t cover my car for that amount regardless of the fact I have a promised buyer at that price.

b. Even if I wreck it, I still get whatever the insurance pays out (probably 11k) plus the 5600 restitution, so even though it wouldn’t be the full 19.5, it would at least be a little less of a sting. I’m looking into getting additional insurance to cover the gap for now.

Top of the list is a manual golf sportwagen alltrac , which is why we’re waiting until spring. If we find a nice used CPO volvo we might change our mind though.

it was tough work, but with enough finger clicks and reading...we got through it. Pretty stoked with the number though, they basically let me drive a super frugal car for over 5 years for about $3500 total cash outlay.

they are also JUNK.

aside from being a small, reliable, fuel efficent hatch...they dont do anything good. interior is SO sub-par compared to other lexi, lots of road noise, its slow as all hell (140HP in 3600lbs, yay!) and doesnt handle worth a crap. and the ride is jarring as well.


consider it a bullet dodged.

Call up a local insurance place, or your current provider, they can offer umbrella insurance to cover the gap. I figure it can’t be more than a few hundred buck for what amounts to 3 grand of coverage for less than a year. Im calling on mine tomorrow

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if that’s a reasonable time to expect the restitution. I’ve accepted that it could be a year before I see anything but since I’m keeping the car, it is just free money.
